WAY back in 2011, I opened a Pinterest account and created a food board called food-to-fix. Super original, right? Since then, I've been pinning recipe ideas on a weekly basis, as of right now, my pin-board has 973 pins! Have I tried them all? NO! Will I try them all? PROBABLY NOT! Do I think Pinterest is a useful tool and a great resource for those of us who never want to get stuck in a food-rut? ABSOLUTELY!
When Jordan and I started out on our plant-based adventure in 2013, Pinterest was my go-to for inspiring, mouth-watering meal ideas. A lot of times when I'm making our weekly meal plan, I'll check back through my food board and incorporate at least one or two new recipes. It's funny how in the winter I'll pin ten different recipes for miso soup and and in the spring and summer I'll have a million different salads to choose from. I love taking ideas from a handful of different recipes and mixing the ingredients to create a recipe that works for us.
Sometimes I scroll through my Pinterest feed until something catches my eye, other times I search for a specific food I'm interested in. I make sure to follow all my favorite bloggers and cook book authors, it's a great way to see what they've been cooking and what's in season. These are the recipes that have been inspiring me this week (I'm making the turmeric popcorn this afternoon!) - all recipes open up in a new window when you click the photograph or the description. Happy pinning!
